Supporting Social Value in Patchway: Springfield Donates Furniture to Pretoria Road Allotments

Springfield was proud to contribute to a fantastic community-led initiative at the Pretoria Road Allotments in Patchway — a project organised and delivered by Morgan Sindall as part of their social value commitment on the Abbeywood Community School development.

The team at Pretoria Road Allotment Society wanted to enhance their indoor space, known as The Shed — a small but important hub used for wreath making, seed sowing, habitat creation and seasonal community events. What makes this space particularly valuable is its role in education. Local schools regularly visit the allotments to learn about biodiversity, food growing, wellbeing, and nature, making it a hands-on space for outdoor learning and connecting children with the environment.

As part of the project, Morgan Sindall volunteers cleaned, refreshed and repainted the building, giving it a brighter, more welcoming feel. To help complete the transformation, Springfield donated new furniture to support workshops, school visits and community activities. Our contribution ensures the space can continue to host local groups comfortably and safely, offering a more practical and inspiring environment for visitors of all ages.

We’re proud to play a small part in improving local spaces that bring people together and provide meaningful educational opportunities for young people. Supporting social value within the communities we work in is an important part of who we are — and we’re grateful to work alongside organisations like Morgan Sindall who share that commitment.

Thank you to everyone involved, including Crown Paints for their generous donation of paint. The Shed is now refreshed and ready for the allotments’ festive events and future community sessions.
